The successful development and adoption of Guangzhou low-odor, non-toxic terpene resin reflect both technological innovation and environmental stewardship. It addresses traditional materials’ ecological drawbacks while unlocking new industrial opportunities.
In today’s society, with the acceleration of industrialization and continuous advancements in technological levels, environmental issues have increasingly become a global focus. Particularly in the chemical industry, the production and use of chemical substances pose significant pollution risks to the environment. As an important class of organic synthetic raw materials, terpene resins generate environmental contamination during their production process that cannot be overlooked. This article explores the environmental protection measures for low-odor terpene resins in the Zhejiang region.
Zhejiang, located in the southeastern coastal area of China, is a province with a developed economy and strong environmental awareness. In recent years, local enterprises in the terpene resin production sector have adopted multiple environmental protection measures to achieve green and sustainable development. These efforts primarily focus on reducing pollutant emissions during production, enhancing the environmental performance of products, and strengthening the treatment and recycling of waste.
Firstly, to address volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, terpene resin producers in Zhejiang have improved production processes and equipment, adopted raw materials with low VOC content, and installed exhaust gas treatment facilities. These measures have effectively reduced VOC emissions, mitigating air pollution and potential health hazards.
Secondly, to minimize odor issues during production, enterprises have employed various technical approaches. For example, additives with natural odor-suppressing functions or new low-odor resin raw materials are used to reduce product smell. Additionally, research into biodegradation technologies has been积极探索 (actively explored), enabling terpene resins to decompose more rapidly under natural conditions and reducing long-term environmental impacts.
Furthermore, Zhejiang’s terpene resin producers prioritize environmental product design. During product development, recyclability and reusability are considered, such as developing byproducts that are easy to separate and designing structures facilitating recycling, thereby reducing waste generation. Enterprises also participate in recycling projects for used terpene resins, collaborating with professional recyclers to achieve circular resource utilization.
Finally, for wastewater, exhaust gases, and solid residues generated during production, Zhejiang’s terpene resin enterprises implement effective treatment and recycling strategies. For instance, wastewater undergoes advanced treatment for reuse in production, conserving water resources; exhaust gases are purified to meet emission standards or centralized processing; and residues are无害化处理 (safely disposed of) or repurposed, such as converting them into building materials.
Beyond these measures, Zhejiang’s terpene resin producers actively fulfill social responsibilities by conducting environmental advocacy and education to raise public awareness and engagement. Collaboration with governments, research institutions, and other stakeholders helps explore greener production technologies and materials, contributing to the industry’s green transformation.
Zhejiang has achieved significant progress in environmental protection within the terpene resin production sector. Through innovative technologies and management strategies, environmental impacts have been effectively reduced, setting a positive example for other chemical manufacturers. With growing environmental consciousness and technological advancements, Zhejiang’s terpene resin industry is poised to advance further on the path toward sustainable development.
